Guru Smt. Padmini Ramachandran needs no introduction to the connoisseurs of dance. She is a name to reckon with, in the field of Bharathanatyam, a renowned artiste, dance teacher and choreographer. Her contribution to this field has been exemplary and remarkable.
She mastered the art form under veteran Sri Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai of Tanjore. She was also a disciple of Guru Sri S.K. Kameswaran. Her passion for excellence in dance and a vision to share her knowledge of this great form of dance led her to found “Natyapriya” in 1974, which is a premier institute for classical dance in Bangalore today.
With her penchant for perfection in classical dance, she has traveled widely in India and abroad spreading the art form of Bharathanatyam and earning National and International acclaim. She has been awarded the titles of “Bharatha Shiromani”, Natyarani Shanthala” and many more. She is the recipient of the 2004 Kannada Rajyotsava award for dance and also the title of ‘Best Guru’ from the Music Academy, Chennai.

Smt. Sharadamani Shekar

Vidushi Smt. Sharadamani Shekhar, daughter of renowned musician Vidwan N.K.Sundar Acharya is a pioneer in the field of Bharatanatyam. She completed her ‘Arangetram’ in the year 1977 and later went on to complete her Vidwat exams in Bharatanatyam.
She was initiated to the Pandanallur style of Bhartanatyam by Karnataka Kalathilaka Ullal Mohan Kumar and gained advanced training from Guru Mysore Muralidhar Rao. Well versed in Kuchipudi dance form and carnatic classical music, Sharadamani has performed in many venues that have won her widespread laurels.
Sharadamani, with her dedication and love towards Bharatanatyam, has been training students at her institute, “Sri Sanathana Natyalaya”, Mangalore for past twenty years. She also had successful ‘Rangapravesha’ of many of her students from her institute and many have completed their Vidwat exams in Bharatanatyam.
In recognition of her work, Karnataka Yuvaka Sangha, Bangalore has awarded her with the title ‘Yuva Nrithya Guru’ and has been felicitated by various organizations of the state.
