Radhika Shetty is a highly gifted and promising artiste who was introduced to the art form of Bharatanatyam by Vidushi Smt. Sharadamani Shekhar of Sanathana Natyalaya, Mangaluru.
She is an accomplished dancer with an ever-growing passion for exploring the depths and diversities of the art form. Under the esteemed guidance of Guru Smt. Padmini Ramachandran from Natyapriya, Bengaluru, she completed her Rangapravesha, marking a significant milestone in her dance journey. Additionally, she honed her skills under the tutelage of Gurus Smt. Rama Vaidyanathan and Smt. Bragha Bessell, continually evolving with each mesmerizing performance.
Today, Radhika has blossomed into a soulful performer, captivating audiences worldwide through her emotive and captivating recitals. With an exceptional ability to embody diverse characters on stage effortlessly, her performances are infused with depth and grace. Her talent has taken her to prestigious venues not only across India but also to Hungary, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, and the USA, where she has delivered lectures, conducted workshops, and
enchanted audiences with her artistry.
As a graded artiste of Bengaluru Doordarshan and empanelled with SPICMACAY for workshop demonstrations, Radhika's contributions to the world of performing arts have been recognized and celebrated. In 2018, she was bestowed with the esteemed title of "BEST DANCER" in the senior category by Parthasarathy Sabha, Chennai.
Beyond her mesmerizing performances, Radhika deeply believes in nurturing the next generation of dancers and preserving the rich heritage of Indian Classical Dance. This conviction led her to establish "Nrityaangan," a registered trust based in Mangaluru. Through Nrityaangan, she not only imparts her knowledge and expertise to young aspirants of Bharatanatyam at her academy but also curates Dance Festivals, Workshops, and Seminars with the aim of promoting this beautiful art form. Over the past decade, Nrityaangan has hosted close to 40 events, all meticulously curated by Radhika, fostering a vibrant dance community in Mangaluru and beyond. For its relentless dedication to the propagation of the arts, the trust was honored with the prestigious 'Samskara Bharati Kala Puraskara 2022' in Mangaluru.
